Jameis Winston has completed his 20 hours of community service following his citation for shoplifting crab legs from a Tallahassee Publix last week and was reinstated to the Florida State baseball team.
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner mopped, swept, cleaned gym equipment and other janitorial work at a Y.M.C.A. in Tallahassee for five hours a day from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon, according to TMZ.
Winston apparently was a big hit among the members who loved having the star quarterback and closer for the baseball team there, according to the Capital Region YMCA president and CEO, Ray Purvis’ comments in a report from For The Win.
“In talking with the staff that supervised his experience, he did some cleaning, mopping, some general cleanup, custodial kinds of activities, and he interacted with some of our members on the fitness floor, and by all accounts was well received,” Purvis said. “My staff person tells me he came in and had a good attitude and performed the community service and completed that obligation.”
